Donate

The work in New Orleans is still underway and we need YOUR help. Use the link to make your donation to our effort to help in the rebuilding of New Orleans via Pay Pal.

By making a donation to this effort, your money is going directly to purchase materials, supplies and tools to keep this project alive, so we can serve and train as many homeowners and volunteers as possible.

What will my donation be used for?

Your kindly donations will be used to.....

1)...allow us to purchase building materials for residents who can't afford them.

The cost of rebuilding a house in the Lower Ninth Ward runs in the $12,000 - $17,000 range.

• A new roof = $600-$800
• Re-wiring a house = $1,500
• Re-plumbing a house = $800 - $1,000
• Insulating = $1,000
• Sheetrock = $1,200 - $1,600
• Kitchen cabinets/countertops = $1,400
• Lumber to replace damaged studs/sills/etc. = $750
• Lumber for window/door trim/baseboards, etc. = $800
• New windows & doors = $1600

The Wilson family returned home June of 2008.

2)...help us house and feed volunteers, which costs us $100/week for each volunteer. By Winter of 2008/2009, we will be hosting and feeding an average of 12 volunteers per week.

3)...pay our bills! Utilities; gas, maintenance and repairs for our vehicles; insurance; tools and safety equipment; stipends for our on-site staff, and the myriad services, supplies and incidental expenses associated with running a program as ambitious as ours.
