Tens of millions of dollars were spent after Hurricane Katrina to rebuild homes in the Lower Ninth Ward by the Make It RIght Foundation. The public face of which is actor, Brad Pitt.
Poor architecural decisions, the use of untested building materials, and high priced designs, left many uable to afford these homes, which then began to fail.
Laura Paul comments on the expenditures of Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation. While the intentions are good, she says it is not the best way to address affordable housing problems in the ninth ward.
